What we’re doing to help
We’re adapting to unique challenges just like you. Our instinct is to promote nature-based rather than urban travel. After months cooped up in your house, surely the idea of clean mountain air, being by the ocean & wide-open landscapes is the stuff of dreams! We’ve been trialling these, & we’ve realised you can safely maintain social distancing from the bustling crowds & enjoy time with just your nearest & dearest.
If the idea of an overseas trip should risk be risky?, then look closer to home and enjoy the beauty throughout the UK. Make your traWell special: there’s a lifetime’s worth of incredible experiences waiting to be discovered no more than a few hours’ drive from your nearest port. Explore Bath, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin and London.
Additionally, our traWell itineraries are designed to help you avoid unnecessary crowds
Even though the rules and regulations have relaxed, we still feel it’s better to proceed with caution. Choose secluded areas to spend your day when on our excursions & try to avoid eating meals until restaurants are less busy. If you’re travelling through the city, don’t take public transport at rush hours. While doing trial runs of each itinerary, we found there to be short delays & queuing at hotels, spas & restaurants, but it was worth it. Your health & safety was paramount.
As governments around the world try to make sense of this new reality, we also anticipate some delays when travelling as people need to be properly checked to ensure everyone’s safety.
Hold off arranging any private transport until you have completed everything required. traWell recommends you wear a mask, wipe down all luggage after every journey, wash your hands and pack hand sanitizer, alcohol gels and sprays. With some countries now enforcing the wearing of masks as compulsory, you’ll want to take more masks than you think you’ll need – they’re easily lost & like us, you might even be able to help someone in need. Once your suitcase zips off on the conveyor belt at check-in, who knows how many people will handle it before you pick it up at your destination. That’s why it’s sensible to clean it with a disinfectant wipe once you get to your hotel. Focus specifically on the handles and wheels. Every time you get back to your room and especially before you eat, give your hand a wash & our team at traWell goes further – After opening door handles or handling cash, we think it makes sense to clean your hands with hand sanitizer. Just remember, you may need a health certificate to pass immigration in some countries & you’ll need to arrange that before you arrive at your destination. The best source of information on these regulations would be the relevant embassy or government website – don’t rely on hearsay or travel blogs. Requirements change quickly.
We’ve read a fair few policies on behalf of our customers. Even if you think you’re fully covered with top-tier insurance, it’s advisable to check your small print. If one of your family has a fever & is denied entry, ask what that means for the rest of you? In many cases, it’s sensible to buy specific COVID-related travel insurance. It’s also worth paying close attention to international travel restrictions of certain countries. If you travel before restrictions are fully lifted, it may invalidate your insurance.
traWell makes post-Corona travel easier
With some countries easing their travel restrictions and others not letting anyone in; with flights increasing in some places & holiday cancellations increasing in others, there are more questions than answers when it comes to travel post-Corona.
‘Where can I go?’, ‘Do I have to quarantine?’, ‘What health declaration forms do I have to fill in?’, & ‘What are the cancellation policies of various airlines?’ are just a few of the questions. A neat trick team traWell uses is mobile apps, like ‘App in the Air’ to help answer some of these questions. There are lots of tools available now that act as all in-one travel assistants for frequent fliers. Consolidate your flight plans, documentation & travel information in one place because you can benefit from real time status updates when on the go.
Knowing what to expect before leaving for the airport will make air travel better not only for frequent fliers but for the airlines, airports and destinations serving them.
